2 Reasons to Stop Eating Instant Noodle

Instant noodles are very famous among young people or university students especially those who are too busy to cook or those who have a small budget for daily expense on food. This popularity is due to the fact that instant noodles are easy to cook and have a very affordable price for everyone.

Despite these two conveniences, instant noodles are not healthy for your health.

  1. Instant Noodles may cause heart problems
  2. In a study published in The Journal of Nutrition, the eating patterns of 10,711 adults were analyzed. At the end of the study, the researchers have found that the consumption of instant noodles more than two times a week was associated with metabolic syndrome which is a set of conditions – including high blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess abdominal fat and abnormal cholesterol. These conditions can increase risk of heart disease, stroke and diabete.

  3. Instant noodles are hard to digest
  4. To see how instant noodle is being digested in our digestive tract, Dr. Braden Kuo of Massachusetts General Hospital put a small camera along with the noodle. The video revealed that even after two our of the digestion, instant noodle rested intact in our intestine. The long-hour-presence of instant noodle in our intestinal tract gives our digestive system a hard time to break them down. Further more, it also reduces absorption of other nutrients.
